Arrival – Ho Chi Minh (None)

Upon arrival Tan Son Nhat airport, you are met and followed by our tour guide. Ho Chi Minh is a city that never sleeps and offers a plethora of great restaurants and bars catering to all tastes, from street food vendors to the rooftop bar at the Rex Hotel, where international correspondents covered the Vietnam War and where the U.S. military attaché’s press briefing was held daily and dubbed the “Five O’clock Follies”. Whatever your interests, be sure to ask your guide for personal recommendations.

Ho Chi Minh tour – Cu Chi tunnel – Ho Chi Minh (B/L)

After an early breakfast you’ll avoid the city heat to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, plus accommodation and schools, and were used as a military base for the Viet Cong in the American war. Afterwards, we will return to the city to visit some of the most important attractions in Ho Chi Minh City, beginning with the Reunification Palace, which was the former residence of the Southern Vietnam President until the end of April 1975. Close to the palace are some striking French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Saigon Post Office.

Afterwards, we’ll visit the History Museum where there is a special exhibition of Phu Nam country which dates back to the 2nd century ‘Oc Eo’ civilization. You'll also visit the Jade Emperor Pagoda, one of the best examples of Taoist temples in Vietnam.

Ho Chi Minh – Sa Dec – Chau Doc (B/L)

This morning, leave the hustle and bustle of the big city behind as the scenery is gradually replaced with rice paddies and rural villages on your drive to Chau Doc. Stop en route in the town of Sa Dec where you will visit the lush gardens and fruit orchards of a local family and Kien An Cung Pagoda before having lunch in the former house of Huynh Thuy Le who is the main character in Marguerite Dura’s novel. After reaching Chau Doc, transfer to the top of Sam Mountain, a popular pilgrimage site, where you will enjoy sweeping views of the countryside as the sun sets.

Chau Doc – Tra Su – Can Tho (B/L)

After breakfast, 8.00am we depart to Tra Su - take a boat trip into the forest, you will immediately feel like you are harmonising with nature because of all of the impressive pictures of cajuputs, the fragrance of the flowers and the music-like noise of birds, insects and animals making people relaxed comfortable. From the observation post, you can overlook the forest with an area of nearly 900 ha, home of many birds and animals, including some rare ones. Have lunch in forest, relax on hammock or experience monkey bridge…Return to land for the drive to Can Tho stopping en route to visit the bamboo basket-making hamlet of Long Thanh. Arrive in Can Tho, check in hotel, free time.

Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Ho Chi Minh (B/L)

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river ( Bassac River), then proceed to visit Cai Răng floating market which are the liveliest in the whole religion. Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a "Monkey bridge" which is built by only o¬ne stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden. Stop for lunch. On the way back to HCM city by bus the last stop is to see how incense sticks are made.
